The Maker
My name is Duane Suter, and I am a woodturner and wood & resin craftsman based in Gloucester, UK.
KraftWorkz began in 2020 — not as a grand commercial venture, but as something far more personal. What started as a hobby quickly became a small, independent cottage business built around one simple principle: make things properly, or don’t make them at all.
Every piece is created in my hand-built workshop — known simply as The Cave Workshop — at the back of my garden. It’s not a factory. There are no production lines. Just timber, tools, time, and patience.
I specialise in one-off, high-quality pieces — bowls, platters, goblets, pens, and decorative objects — crafted from carefully selected hardwoods and, where appropriate, resin. Many pieces are shaped by traditional woodturning methods; others blend classic craftsmanship with modern techniques such as laser detailing.
No two items are ever identical. The grain dictates the form. The character of the wood guides the finish. Sometimes a piece carries a story. Sometimes the story finds the piece.
KraftWorkz remains intentionally small and personal. I create when inspiration strikes, not to fill shelves. The result is a collection of unique, individually crafted works designed to be kept, gifted, or passed on.
Everything made here carries the same standard: honest materials, careful workmanship, and respect for the craft.
