The Heritage Collection - Artisan Heritage Works by Duane Suter
The Heritage Collection represents the finest expression of artisan woodturning from KraftWorkz by Duane Suter. Individually created from carefully selected timber and occasional resin, each piece is designed, shaped and finished by hand to explore form, balance, material character and craftsmanship.
No two works are ever reproduced exactly. Every piece within the collection is created as a standalone work — crafted slowly, deliberately, and without compromise.

The King's Bowl
The King's Bowl – A Small Gesture That Found Its Way to the Palace Not long after the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the ascension of King Charles III, I decided to mark the moment in my own way — by turning a simple oak bowl in my workshop. Once finished, I engraved it with King Charles III’s royal cypher and sent it to Buckingham Palace as a personal gift, along with a short letter of sympathy and support. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything back — it was just a respectful gesture, nothing more. A few weeks later, I was surprised to receive an official reply from the Palace. The letter, signed by the King’s Correspondence Secretary, expressed His Majesty’s thanks for the bowl and kind words. According to the letter: "His Majesty was touched you have given him a present... The King is most grateful to you for taking the trouble to write as you did..." Needless to say, it was a proud moment. To know that something crafted on my lathe, with care and respect, actually reached its intended destination — and received a personal response — means a great deal to me. A simple bowl. A moment in time. And a memory I’ll always hold on to.

RMS Olympic Fountain Pen
Handcrafted from salvaged first-class deck oak from the RMS Olympic, sister ship to the RMS Titanic, this fountain pen preserves a small surviving fragment of one of the great ships of the Edwardian era. Created as a functional writing instrument rather than a display piece, only two examples were ever produced from the historic timber.

The Emberpath Beacon
Inspired by the ritual lanterns and fire vessels of older folklore traditions, The Emberpath Beacon explores the relationship between timber, shadow and candlelight. The pierced form was designed to cast shifting patterns of warm light across surrounding surfaces, allowing the piece to transform once illuminated.
Individually hand-turned and finished, the work was created as both a sculptural object and a functional vessel — balancing atmosphere, material character and restrained craftsmanship.

The Fleur-de-Lis Bowl
Engraved with the fleur-de-lis and turned from richly toned Meranti, this piece draws inspiration from the symbolism, mythology and hidden histories long associated with the emblem throughout European culture. Referencing themes of lineage, sacred femininity and the idea of the vessel as symbol, the work was created as both a functional bowl and a contemplative object.
Hand-turned and finished with restraint, the form was intentionally kept balanced and understated, allowing the warmth and character of the timber to remain central to the piece.

King Arthur’s Goblet
Inspired by Arthurian legend and the symbolic fracture left by betrayal, King Arthur’s Goblet was hand-turned from richly figured oak and marked with a flowing seam of crimson resin. The piece explores the idea of restoration rather than perfection — allowing the scar within the timber to remain visible as part of the work’s identity.
Individually shaped and finished by hand, the goblet balances mythic inspiration with restrained craftsmanship, preserving both the warmth and natural tension of the material.

The Knight's Chalice
Inspired by medieval chalices, folklore and themes of loyalty and remembrance, The Knight’s Chalice was hand-turned as a symbolic vessel rather than a purely decorative object. The enclosed ring, permanently captured within the base of the piece, was intentionally incorporated as a reflection on permanence, memory and enduring connection.
Finished with restraint and shaped to preserve the weight and balance of traditional ceremonial forms, the work combines darkened timber, symbolism and craftsmanship in a single one-off piece.

The Dragon Breath Bowl
The Dragon Breath Bowl was created as an exploration of fire, resilience and material transformation. Turned from spalted beech and partially scorched by flame, the piece preserves the contrast between blackened texture and untouched timber — allowing the marks of heat and survival to remain visible within the finished form.
Shaped and finished by hand, the bowl balances dramatic surface character with restrained craftsmanship, treating the burning not as damage, but as part of the work’s history and identity.

The Witch's Platter
Inspired by traditional ritual vessels and seasonal symbolism, The Witch’s Platter was hand-turned from beech and engraved with a rope-bound pentacle surrounded by the eight Sabbats of the Wheel of the Year. The work explores themes of balance, gathering and continuity through both material and symbol.
Created as a functional platter as much as a decorative object, the piece combines restrained craftsmanship, engraved detail and warm natural timber to produce a quietly atmospheric one-off work.
